Tabanca's new track 'Lagoon' got its first spin on Huw Stephens' show this week. A smooth, sulking electronic number, produced by one of our old favourites Gent Mason (whose ace Eden 12" was released by Brixton indie, Aesop), 'Lagoon' captures the charming infectiousness of AlunaGeorge when they first gatecrashed the daytime radio circuit a few years back. Nao and Ben Khan now fly the standard for this sort of skewed, strobing music that's equally at home on the dancefloor and the nightbus; you can probably add Tabanca into the mix with 'Lagoon' and its foamy waves of guitars, skittish beats and pitch-warped vocals. - DC
